Several financial aid programs are made available to Tennesseans funded by the Tennessee Education Lottery. The HOPE Foster Child Tuition Grant, STEP UP program, and Helping Heroes fund provide financial assistance to promote access to higher education. The Tennessee implementation of the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Program (NEVI) expands access to convenient and reliable electric vehicle (EV) charging along interstates and highways designated as Alternative Fuel Corridors. The program supports installation of a network of fast chargers that allow travelers to quickly recharge their EV along major state transportation corridors for local and long-distance trips.

The Tennessee Entertainment Commission Incentive Fund promotes and facilitates the recruitment of businesses in the entertainment industry to Tennessee. In doing so, it helps grow Tennessee’s film, movie, television, and creative technology industries, including the production of films, movies, television pilots and programs, computer-generated imagery and interactive digital media, and stand-alone post-production scoring and editing in Tennessee.

Tennessee Fire Service & Codes Enforcement Academy (TFACA) works to plan, develop, deliver and facilitate education and training that promotes professionalism and competency of fire service (both career and volunteer) and codes enforcement personnel through a standardized statewide program. It also facilitates certification for those individuals.

The primary objective of THL is to coordinate health care services for TennCare members with the highest behavioral health needs. Through better coordinated behavioral and physical health services, THL is meant to produce improved member outcomes, greater provider accountability and flexibility when it comes to the delivery of appropriate care for each individual, and improved cost control for the state. THL providers are encouraged to ensure the best care setting for each member, offer expanded access to care, improve treatment adherence, and reduce hospital admissions. In addition, the program is built to encourage the integration of physical and behavioral health, as well as, mental health recovery, giving every member a chance to reach his or her full potential for living a rewarding and increasingly independent life in the community.

Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy (TLETA) Tuition Assistance Program provides assistance for local law enforcement agencies which includes paid tuition for Basic Police School completed at TLETA, daily working uniforms and physical fitness gear, and additional financial assistance to agencies when their cadets graduate from TLETA. The goal is aiding agencies in having more trained officers and reduce vacancies thereby making their communities safer.

The Tennessee Plant Optimization Program (TN POP) provides free resources to support water and wastewater operators in achieving optimization in energy use and nutrient removal for their facilities through low and no-cost measures. Eligible facilities can receive technical assistance, loaned equipment, cost savings opportunities, and supportive regulatory oversight to optimize nutrient treatment in wastewater treatment facilities to improve water quality.

The Tennessee Radon Program provides education and outreach to citizens to raise awareness of the dangers of radon and how to mitigate those dangers. It also offers services and assistance such as free test kits for homeowners as well as specific training and resource materials for targeted audiences such as real estate professionals, home builders, building codes officials, home inspectors, and school officials.

Tennessee Recovery Navigators are people in long-term recovery who meet patients who have recently overdosed in the Emergency Department and connect them with the substance abuse treatment and recovery services they need. Navigators maintain a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) Certification to use their lived experience to help others find recovery. Navigators connect individuals entering emergency departments (EDs) to recovery services after being admitted due to an overdose, experiencing active withdrawal, or being identified as having a substance use disorder (SUD).
