Program Description

WIOA Dislocated Worker Services help workers get back to work as quickly as possible and overcome barriers to employment after employment separation. When individuals become dislocated because of job loss, mass layoffs, global trade dynamics, or transitions in economic sectors, the program provides services to assist them in re-entering the workforce. The program includes Rapid Response services and Trade Adjustment Assistance services.

If we ensure effective implementation of WIOA – Dislocated Worker Services through local workforce development areas/boards so that they provide a range of employment, education, training, and related services and supports for dislocated workers in the workforce, such as – career assistance, reemployment, transportation, childcare and dependent care, and employment and training-related applications, tests, certifications, etc.— then we will help ensure dislocated job-seekers secure good jobs while providing businesses with the skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy.
