Research
This program differs slightly in that Suffolk county accepts misdemeanor convictions, we do not; theirs requires regular visits to the judge while our submits progress reports to the courts; we do not allow MAT participants; we require a risk needs assessment before acceptance; we do not reduce convictions upon release; they return participants to jail or prison who fail the program while ours may not be returned but go before to diverting judge who may return them to the DRC.
