Program Description

This program helps incarcerated individuals prepare for successful reintegration into the community and provides community corrections program supports such as providing a broader range of options outside of incarceration or offering direct services to meet the basic needs of the justice-involved individual. This minimizes the risk of these individuals re-entering the justice system as well as making the communities of Tennessee safer.

If we address the needs of justice-involved individuals such as treatment for mental illness or drug addiction, offering vocational or evidence-based training to incarcerated individuals, or ensuring there are other alternatives to incarceration when its appropriate, then these individuals are less likely to recidivate and Tennessee communities will remain safer.
