The Family Support Program offers individuals with severe disabilities and their families who do not receive any other comprehensive services the opportunity to remain together and to choose supports that increase their quality of life and well-being, regardless of age and income. The program is used for a wide range of costs and services related to disability, including respite care, equipment/supplies, nursing, counseling, housing costs, personal assistance, health-related needs, equipment, and more.

The Federal Bonding Program provides fidelity bonds to employers, which protect them against losses caused by fraudulent or dishonest acts of bonded employees, such as theft, forgery, larceny, and embezzlement. Employers receive the FBP bonds free-of-charge as an incentive to hire these applicants.

The Education & Outreach programs support strategies to reduce fire loss in communities throughout the state. Using data analysis of fire reports, targeted fire prevention programs, such as “Get Alarmed, TN,” Fire Loss Consultants and Close the Door have been developed and delivered. Additional programs support community risk reduction efforts at the local level to provide tools to fire departments including the Annual Fire Loss Symposium, Fire Prevention Week, and the development of community risk reduction plans with fire departments.

FEPI/On Track TN is designed to provide early intervention services for youth and young adults ages 15 to 30 who have experienced first-episode psychosis. This comprehensive intervention model is a team of mental health professionals and support services, focusing on helping people work toward recovery and meeting personal goals. The program includes the following components: individual and group psychotherapy, supported employment and education, family education and support, peer support, psychopharmacology, and care coordination and management.

A forensic interview is a way for specially trained staff to gain details about possible abuse from a child in his or her own words. Sensitive to the child’s emotional and developmental needs, interviewers gather as many facts as possible about allegations in a comfortable and child-focused manner.

The Forest Management program educates, empowers, and facilitates forest management activities on Tennessee’s private and public forest lands. Those activities focus on forest health, water quality protection, urban forest management, rural forest management, reforestation, and forest inventory and analysis. The foundation for Forest Management in Tennessee is the Forest Inventory and Analysis Program, which provides the data needed to understand how Tennessee’s forests are growing and being managed. By helping Tennessee’s forests remain healthy and sustainable, the forest products industry will remain strong, recreation and enjoyment of our forests will be supported, clean water will be protected, and wildlife will thrive.

The Forest Protection Program works to minimize damage to forest resources and personal property while giving priority to firefighter and public safety. The program prevents and suppresses wildfires, promotes hazard reduction activities, implements beneficial prescribed fire, and supports wildland fire training for volunteer fire departments and other wildland firefighters. The program also includes presentations for youth on wildfire prevention.

The Get Food Smart TN program is the state of Tennessee’s primary food waste reduction, recovery, and diversion program. The program provides education and outreach to Tennesseans to help them reduce food waste in their homes. It also assists restaurants, schools, government entities, organizations, grocery stores, agriculture, and other businesses in starting and enhancing food waste initiatives.
