Program Description
The Reentry Services Program provides comprehensive workforce services to support justice-involved individuals (JII) who are reentering society after incarceration or engagement with the justice system, including legal aid services, connections to employment, training, education, etc. . TDLWD’s Office of Reentry works through local workforce areas/boards, and with individuals, employers, communities, associations, and organizations to support these services for JII training and employment.

Research
For the evaluated program, employment support begins 60-90 days prior to the incarcerated individual’s scheduled release date and supports are one-on-one. This differs from the Reentry Services (Office of Reentry) Program. However, the supports provided include training and support on soft skills (drafting resumes, job-searching techniques, and interviewing skills) and facilitating employment connections, which aligns with TDLWD’s program.
