Program Description

The Solid Waste/Materials Management Technical Assistance program, as part of a larger Materials Management effort, provides technical assistance to Tennessee’s 66 waste planning regions and 95 counties in the handling of problem wastes. Problem wastes include waste tires, used oil, batteries, anti-freeze, electronics, and household hazardous wastes. The program also coordinates household hazardous waste collection events, conditionally exempt small quantity generator mobile events, and the collection of used oil and waste tires.
