Program Description
The Viral Hepatitis Program oversees hepatitis C virus (HCV) prevention, surveillance, linkage to care, and provides clinical support to health departments throughout the state. It includes Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) HCV Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) that builds treatment capacity for adults and children living with hepatitis C. TDH HCV Project ECHO brings together several external subject matter experts with adult hepatitis C, pediatric hepatitis C, and pharmacy expertise to provide didactic presentations and discuss cases submitted by participants. The Viral Hepatitis Program also participates in hepatitis B virus (HBV) prevention and surveillance activities.
