Program Description

Youth Services focus on assisting out-of-school youth and in-school youth, ages 14-24 and with one or more barriers to employment, to prepare for post-secondary education and employment opportunities, attain educational and/or skills training credentials, and secure employment with career/promotional opportunities. The program is administered by TDLWD through local workforce development areas/boards and organizations.

If we ensure effective implementation of WIOA Youth Services and supports for in-school and out-of-school youth through the local workforce development areas/boards and organizations, such as - providing paid work-based experiences and improving career exploration services to youth with disabilities, etc. – then more youth will be exposed to in-demand occupations, develop the necessary skills, and understand career pathways which lead to good jobs.
