Rapid Response Services are a proactive, business-focused, and flexible strategy designed to respond to layoffs and employer closings by quickly coordinating services and providing immediate aid to businesses and their affected workers. Rapid Response teams work with employers and any employee representative(s) to quickly maximize public and private resources to minimize disruptions associated with job loss. Services are administered by the TDLWD and implemented through local workforce development areas/boards and organizations.

Rebuilding Public Infrastructure is a suite of grant opportunities for state and local governments, certain non-profit organizations, and Indian tribes. Eligible grant projects are designed to assist communities in returning to a pre-disaster condition and functionality as soon as possible. Projects under these grants could include disaster-caused emergency work, such as debris removal and emergency protective measures. Additional projects include permanent work repair of roads and bridges, buildings, utilities, and more. Specific grant programs include the Public Assistance Program and the Fire Management Assistance Grant Program.

The Recreational Trail Program, RTP, is a federally funded, state administered grant program that provides grant funding for land acquisition for trails, non-routine trail maintenance, trail construction, trail rehabilitation and for trail head support facilities. Local, state, and federal land managing agencies are eligible to apply as well as state chartered, non-profit organizations with IRS 501(c)(3) status that have a written agreement for trail management with an agency. All grant projects MUST be on land owned by a government entity. RTP grants are distributed in the form of an 80% grant with a 20% organization match based on the total project amount.

The Recycling, Diversion, and Solid Waste Materials Management Grants Program provides financial assistance through non-profit organizations to counties, municipalities, and nonprofits within Tennessee to support solid waste planning, recycling, and other ways to divert waste from landfills. Grants promote activities like education, used oil disposal, convenience center development, household hazardous waste disposal, and food waste diversion.

The federal Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) program is intended to better link the unemployed with the overall workforce system. RESEA provides Unemployment Insurance (UI) claimants access to specific services through the American Job Center network that can help them get back into the workforce faster.

The Reentry Services Program provides comprehensive workforce services to support justice-involved individuals (JII) who are reentering society after incarceration or engagement with the justice system, including legal aid services, connections to employment, training, education, etc. . TDLWD’s Office of Reentry works through local workforce areas/boards, and with individuals, employers, communities, associations, and organizations to support these services for JII training and employment.

The Regional Intervention Program (RIP) is a parent-implemented, professionally supported program for young children (2-6 years old) and their families experiencing challenging behaviors. This unique, internationally recognized program guides parents in learning the skills necessary to work with their own children, while they receive training and support from other RIP families.

Through funding provided by the Regulatory Board’s Grants to Higher Education Program, accredited public and private universities with schools of architecture, engineering, and/or interior design may apply for grant funds to be used for the purchase of computers, laboratory or instructional equipment, library resources, to pay intern development program fees or examination fees, or to fund other relevant activities that promote the education and practical competency of design professionals in the fields of architecture, engineering, and interior design.

The Regulatory Boards Education and Outreach programs are outreach opportunities directed toward licensees and consumers, including, but not limited to speaking to licensees, presenting at association meetings, and disseminating newsletters and press releases to the general public. The purpose of these activities is to promote increased knowledge among licensed professionals and the public to increase the quality of services provided by licensed professionals and to provide prospective licensees with information about the licensure process.
